1. Journals of papers

When you search research papers of any topics,  it shows the name of the journal along with the title and some descriptions of articles. See figure 1 below.  This helps you know whether the article has been published in a standard journal or not.

2. Citations

When you use someone else's work on your research articles, you need to give credit of their works.  The best way of giving credit is that cite their works in the reference section of your work document.

You access for citation of the research article you are using from google scholar. There is an option called 'Cite' with a symbol of  '"' on the web page, see figure 1.

3. DOI and ISSN

Any research articles having these two properties means that these articles are of standard quality. They must have been published in high-ranked journals.

Or, check by visiting DOI website: Digital Object Identifier System (doi.org)
Copy and paste this DOI link on your browser search bar. You must get to the page where you can see the title of the article, description, and additional information.

ISSN: International Standard Serial Number
for example: 1735-6865, 2352-9385
Check this ISSN by vising site: Welcome to The ISSN Portal | The ISSN Portal
If they are correct, then you can see the Journal name and some additional information as result of your search.

4. Suggestions for related topics 

Google Scholar also suggests you articles of related topics. You can directly access the articles cited on papers you are looking/reading. 

5. Search by Year of Publication

You can also search articles by year of publication. See figure. For example, if you are looking for articles of 2021, then chose option since 2021 as shown in above figure 1.
